Our Approach
Every division produces byproducts that would be discarded elsewhere — cattle and poultry dung, corn husks and peels, rice husks, cassava peels, fish offal, and crop residue. Rather than treating these as waste, we treat them as an internal input market: captured, converted, and used inside our own operations. This closes nutrient loops, cuts input costs, and reduces our environmental footprint at the same time.
Byproduct Conversion Streams
| Source Division | Byproduct | Conversion | End Product |
|---|---|---|---|
| Livestock | Cattle & poultry dung | Composting / anaerobic digestion | Organic manure, biogas |
| Crop Farming / Processing | Peeled corn husks & cobs | Drying & milling | Livestock feed supplement |
| Agro-Processing | Rice husks | Combustion / bedding material | Boiler fuel, animal bedding |
| Agro-Processing | Cassava peels & starch effluent | Fermentation / drying | Livestock feed, biogas slurry |
| Fish Farming | Fish offal & pond sludge | Composting | Organic fertilizer |
| Greenhouse | Crop residue & prunings | Composting / mulching | Soil amendment |
Targets We Track
| Target | Standard | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Byproduct diversion rate | ≥ 90% of identified waste streams converted | Monthly |
| Manure-to-fertilizer conversion yield | ≥ 60% of input weight | Per batch |
| Feed substitution rate (corn peel/husk) | ≥ 10% of livestock ration by weight | Monthly |
| Disposal-to-landfill volume | < 5% of total byproduct volume | Quarterly |
Any byproduct stream that cannot be converted or reused internally is referred for an alternative-use assessment before disposal is authorised — landfill or burning is a last resort, applied to less than 5% of total byproduct volume and requiring HSE sign-off. This standard is tracked as a formal internal SOP (SOP-RCY-001) across all 10 divisions, not just a marketing claim.
